Hello,

Thanks for clicking onto the Archaeology World Report Website. Archaeology World Report Magazine's first edition, launched in June 2004 will be ONLY available in a printed form - but there will be updates on content and the occasional article available on line. Archaeology World Report is self financing and non-profit making.

Archaeology World Report was an idea, I the editor originally thought up around 18 years ago. It aims to promote archaeological work across the world, and does not in anyway aim to concentrate on the country that the magazine is published in. Instead the magazine is written by correspondants from the four corners of the globe - the dedication of which can be seen in the writing.

Also, at Archaeology World Report we aim to promote campaigns and to undertake the same, to STOP the illegal trade in antiquities. Also we aim to secure governmental support to legislate for Metal Detecting. Eventually we will use funds from sales of the magazine, to establish new archaeological services and museums in third world countries.

On this site you can subscribe to the magazine - which is only a click away, or you can purchase individual copies of the printed magazine. The introductory rate for first year subscribers is as follows:

  • Australasia Aus$45
  • Europe €30
  • Britain £20
  • America and elsewhere $35

In order to provide a comprehensive service for the general public interest in archaeology and for archaeologists, an Archaeology World Report Forum has been established - to solely discuss archaeological matters: particularly sites that are underthreat from natural erosion/disaster, looting or war.

You can also meet magazine contributors on this website, and read further details of what is in edition one and plans for future editions.

Thanks must go to Robert for setting this site up for us, and to Ken convincing me of the worth of the internet.

Thanks,

Karl-James Langford PGDip AH
